Problem
Observatory systems have to operate reliably in the field, where software faults, instrument behaviour and environmental conditions are inseparable.

I developed and operated telescope software, worked with CCD cameras and diagnosed systems during observing campaigns and on-site work.

What I built
- Developed software for a 60 cm telescope.
- Worked on automation of a 32 cm telescope.
- Integrated and diagnosed CCD camera and control-system behaviour.
- Applied extensive field experience in Chile and during operation of the 60 cm telescope at Białków Observatory.

Constraints and trade-offs
- Observatory automation must fail visibly and remain diagnosable when remote recovery is limited.
- Field reliability depends on understanding the complete hardware-software path, not only application code.
